There is no set fee. Compensation is left to the discretion of your elders. Travel expenses (mileage or airfare) and lodging are the responsibility of the host congregation.


Your deacons will be encouraged and rise to new levels of commitment. They will grow in their understanding of the dignity and importance of their role. Special emphasis is placed on strengthening the deacon’s relationship with his elders and providing ideas for better execution. The men will leave with a clearer idea of what God expects and greater confidence in their ability to do it.


Each session consists of 30 minutes of presentation,  15 minutes of group interaction, and a 15 minute break.

Session One deals with the role of a deacon. It explains what the job entails and why it is vital to the fulfillment of the church’s mission. Biblical deacons are not glorified gofers. They are God’s Champions.

Session Two takes a look at the requirements of a deacon. Ten benchmarks of spiritual maturity must be attained to serve in this special capacity. The meaning and practical importance of each qualification will be considered.

Session Three will focus on the responsibilities of a deacon. Deacons are men with a proven ability to get things done. Clarity, initiative, teamwork, and accountability are the keys to developing a track record of consistent success. 

Session Four will spotlight the relationships of a deacon. Five crucial relations form the circle-of-success for spiritual leaders. To maximize their ministries, deacons must make the most of these caring connections.

Session Five will increase motivation for service by examining the rewards of a deacon. Though frequent flyer miles and cash back incentives are not available, God definitely has a rewards program for those who serve well
